1. Mad Dog Madson. Always a fan of him and his oddly square head.

2. Mad Dog, Chase barehanding that grounder, Pence and his awkward smile running in from right field, random Mini-Mart appearance, Rauuuuuul and his cheek full of dip…what a scene. And what a great season that was. Until that damned Game 5.

4. I had MLB.tv that year and I watched 150 games. I live in Canada so it was so nice to be able to watch so many games since they’re not on TV here. They won 102 games that season I think? Pretty awesome. Such a great team.

5. the irony in that they clinched against STL. ugh.

6. And then promptly lost 8 straight games.

   For some reason decided it was important to go for the franchise win total. Went to Atlanta and swept them including going to EXTRA INNINGS in the last game of the season-a meaningless game for the Phillies. Let the Cardinals into the playoffs.

   We know how that ended. It felt bad then when they let the Cardinals in. It still feels bad.

7. My son’s entire lifetime since we last won the division. I’m ready. Hell, I’ve been ready for years.

8. Regardless of how they did in the playoffs this is the best team I’ve ever been a fan of.
