Two plays that kept Brian Thomas JR from having an absolute monster game.

At 0:58 Trevor spin moves out the pocket way too early, and BTJ is running a quick slant on the goal line, WIDE OPEN. Very frustraiting to watch.

At 2:21 (The safety play) Brian Thomas BLOWS by his corner and if the ball hits him in stride was very likely going to be a 99 yard bomb for a TD. But here, our interior line gets destroyed by 1 DT and Lawrence dosen't get a chance to even try it.

Right now we're getting hurt by our O line, Trevor is feeling pressure before it's there (which is kinda understandable considering how bad the line is) and then the line giving up easy pressure with a 2v1 situation with 1 DT vs two IOL which is absolutely disgusting.

One positive: Brian Thomas Jr is a legit #1 WR and it shows.

  1. On the btj slant, the reason we are even in that position is because trevor somehow escaped a crushed pocket for a long scramble. He already wasn’t trusting the line already and basically got to the goal line by luck in spite of the o line. I’m not surprised he panicked and rolled out the first sight of the left side collapsing again.

Not a good play for him, but it’s easy to see why he’d rather have a chance at throwing the ball away. Still, should have trusted btj to get open before the collapse.

The o line is tied for the biggest reason we suck.

Coaches had an entire off season to figure out solutions and came back looking the exact same playcalling wise.

  2. Jesus. Watching nearly every passing down sequentially really drives home how absolutely broken we are on offense. The QB looks unsettled and panicked, the OL is so ass that proctologists are asking for their number and the playcalling looks like something you would see from my 7 year old nephew in Madden.

We are such an unserious organization.

  3. Dang, watching that video makes me feel even better about him. He was open on a lot of these other plays too. The sack at 1:11 really jumps out.

Only thing that I don’t like is it seems like he doesn’t expect the ball if he isn’t wide open. When he beats his guy he’s jumping up and down, but on his drop and one of his catches he seemed to react late to the ball coming to him; he wasn’t quite ready. Seems easily fixable. Feed him and he’ll always expect it haha

Other thing I noticed: Trevor’s sack at 2:00 was terrible. Johnson is wide open on the checkdown. Idk what the down was, but he had a good chance to make a first down anyway. With the coverage they were playing, there was no way the two guys downfield would open up against like six DBs, idk what he was looking for. Get it to Johnson and let him do his best.
