  1. I love the way Marty put it in the press conference at the golf tournament, it’s incredibly beneficial to have a similar group grow together and have similar expectations on the ice which is to play their game and adding in one player at a time to come adjust to the system is the best way to go

  2. 17 years. Let the competition start. Isn’t it about time we had a player issue of who is going to play? May the best man win. May the winner add to what is projected as one of the NHL best young defence unless you listen to Pronman.
Surprise of the season? It isn’t Laine who should recapture his touch. It will be Dach who has had the fortune to shine

  3. One thing i don’t like about rookie camps is it doesn’t truly reflect everyone’s skill set. Playing with random guys that are trying desperately to make the team will change many factors. Some guys hold onto the puck longer or other guys will pass a lot more instead of shooting because they don’t want to look bad. A few guys were running around because the pressure was on. I think the AHL for a lot of guys will showcase them a lot better. Even some that stood out could very well be duds.

  4. I don't think the Habs will be doing many more changes for this season or even the next season. Laine is under contract for 2 seasons and they need to see if he comes back to his full potential, and they want Demidov in his second season, also they need to sort out our young D and see who stays and ho goes while giving them all ice time and experience before they really get into adding the big pieces. There will also be some "questionable" contracts coming off the books which will allow for those big pieces. The Habs are getting a reputation as a place to go among players and if Laine turns his game around that will make the Habs "THE" destination of choice for a lot of UFA's in 2-3 years from now. Great show guys! GO HABS GO!

  5. Hughes might be saying that just to raise the cost to get one of our upcoming FA. Savard at trade deadline should get a minimum 2nd rounder but if you say were keeping him unless you pay higher then you can force a desperate GM to send a 1st.

  6. Yeah right for Hugues.

He's trading Dvorak and Savard at the end of the season.

1- Too many defensemen are in the team and Dvorak can still be replaced at this point.
2- Players like Beck, Mesar, Kidney, Simoneau, Farrell, Kapanen, ETC can possibly become surprises at camp OR during the AHL season and be deemed ok enough to make Dvorak expendable.

I like Savard, but expiring contract vs almost a complete defensive squad of prospects…

  7. This is the most exciting rebuild in sports. The Sharks are on track, the Hawks have Bedard, but this Habs team is two years from a very special decade beginning.
