Mr. and Mrs. Met are the best

I just wanted to give a shoutout to the best mascots in sports history, Mr. and Mrs. Met. They absolutely made my mom’s whole life last night.

It started with the video they offered on Mets Connect. For some points, you could buy a personalized video, so I got one for Mom to commemorate our summer at Citi Field and the billion games we went to. I sent them this photo from an older game in the video request, just to say thanks for saying hi. I figured I’d get the video by email sometime and that would be it.

Anyway, last night as Mr. and Mrs. Met were waiting to walk onto the field, near our seats. They saw my mom at her seats and remembered her! The team came right over and said they’d just made her video. Both of them spent so much time hugging and dancing with my mom. She felt like a celebrity! She was absolutely tongue-tied and thrilled and losing her mind, it was so cute. They were lovely! We spent a few minutes with them and then they disappeared into the tunnel. Incredible moment.

A few minutes later, the whole team reappeared with this signed photo!! They went inside, found my email, printed off this pic, and had Mrs. Met sign and deliver it to her, all during the 7th inning. It was WILD! I couldn’t believe the attention to detail and the way they went above and beyond for one single fan. This was a priceless experience for my Mom.

I cannot say enough about the staff in this park. I sound like I work for HR but I was truly blown away by the effort and how special they made my mom feel. She can’t stop talking about it. They made a core memory for her, for life. I couldn’t be more grateful.

THANK YOU Mr. and Mrs. Met, thank you Ray, thank you mascot team!

Guys, if you see that video reward available, 1000% get one. It’s really cute.

LGM!💙🧡

  1. hell yeah..they’re awesome mascots

we got to a game this season during the Twins series early enough to have time to walk around the center field area with our kids and let them run around a bit, and right when we got to the batting tee field, Mr Met was walking out

They were on their way to another part of the park, but stopped and let my kids hug him and take photos…we caught them at the right time but my kids are still so hyped on this season because they met Mr Met and got on the jumbotron twice during the same game
