We’re so back
I’m ready to put myself out there again.
Dude I wanted to post something similar, I’m away on business and just scrolling through /r/leafs and I’m so hyped for this season now! And I’ve been dead inside for the past 5 years.
This is our year.

We are so fucking back but for real this time I swear
I am more optimistic about this team than years prior. Best d and goalie tandem on paper, matured matthews, nylander marner (lol), and pretty deep at forward group, lacking a 3c but we are going to acquire something at the deadline so…
I’m ready to be hurt again, let’s go!

I gotta say we are so back and I kinda think its our year!
The other day my boss was being “rational” (I know it’s ridiculous)
So I bet him that they’d make at least the third round this year
He said he’d buy me a free lunch if they do so
Soooo yeah got something riding on it this time
I am ready to be hurt again!
Okay, but I mean… this IS our year… cmon bois!
This is my honest opinion. If Berube can’t get us out of the 1st Rd (Personally I want CF at least and Marner to have at least 10 points otherwise DO NOT SIGN HIM ESPECIALLY IF HE COSTS US THE SEASON AGAIN) and win us a cup (despite my shift manager reminding me the only HC to win the cup with 2 teams is Scotty Bowman who I think did it with 3 tech. Also baby steps. Out of the first Rd first if we don’t make the finals don’t fire Berube) BLOW THIS Team LIKE ITS HIROSHIMA (Apologies to Hiroshima survivors I mean no offense) because at this point it’s clearly the players and Shannon. However apparently Berube was driving the players hard in the first skate so IMO that’s a good sign. I’ve heard hockey people say the best coaches are the ones that players hate but it leads them to success anyways. (For example Torts in Tampa)
I was back after the first round, I’m just super super back now! Haha
I’m past having a “this is our year” phase. I just want to watch Leafs hockey whenever they play, however many rounds that may be.
We’re so back > This is our year > break some regular season record > Plan the parade > playoffs First round lose few games “didn’t start on time/ Stars being invisible > win next few games “shows our perseverance, gotta just go out there and play our game, must win mentality ” > game 7 take a nice lead early > opponents ties it up > overtime opponent breakaway scores> our goalie lies on the ice sad > “there’s always next year” > off season > repeat
But this year is different!!! LETS FUCKIN GOOOO!!!
