  1. Reggie Jackson was comparable, June 14, 1969, then with Oakland, against the Red Sox at Fenway: 5-for-6 with a walk, 2 homers, a double, and 10 RBIs, one shy of the all-time American League record.

  2. Maybe greatest game but not greatest day. Pitching a complete game 1-hitter in game one of a doubleheader then homers on first two at bats of game 2 is greatest day. Oh, he did that too. Amazing.
