A GM getting a 4th rounder is a joke for a player this young still with potential.
Wish him the best in Edmonton I would laugh if he gets his name on the cup in a Dylan Holloway type role…

Bust vertanen 2.0
Funny, he was riding high and every thing was looking good then he got beat up. Like it emasculated him. His confidence evaporated.And became tentative. Got sent to the AHL and got knocked unconscious by a really bad cheap shot from behind. Seemed like he was slowly getting there and you can only have so much rope. Unfortunately we will never know if he would become a regular.I still think he can do it. He has to turn the corner. It is up to him now to put in the work.
When I saw him in the interview, and I'm not a psychologist or expert of any kind, he struck me as a guy who would rather choose his moments of all eyes being on him than have the limelight thrust upon him. I'm cautiously optimistic as an Oilers fan, because I think he'll have an amazing opportunity to turn things around for himself in the background without a lot of pressure. I also like how he mentioned the PK several times, it's nice when guys are excited to take on roles like that – and Edmonton lost a couple of their pk guys this summer. Scoring isn't even necessary, the team just needs youthful energy with the discipline not to get scored on.
What went wrong is management traded him to a rival team. I just hope this trade won't leave a bitter taste in the mouths of our fans if he becomes successful. I wish he was traded elsewhere and would be cheerful in his fresh start.

I wish him well. I remember how much you liked him and wanted him on the team.
My take is he had a kid, his priorities changed and he's living his life. Hockey turned into a side gig.
Wish the Canucks gave him another chance.
The way you describe him reminds me of how puljjujarvi was when he was on the oilers, overthinking and just rushing things. Still have hope for both players to find it out.
Hopefully hes ready to become Podzilla for the Oil.
