  1. And with that people out there talking about Bobby Witt Jr for MVP. He’s put up one of the best seasons in Yankee history, no way he deserves to lose another pity MVP

  2. r/baseball hates the Yankees and they’re too busy blowing their load to Ohtani every day. Not surprised the post got removed.

  3. Even if he doesn’t go on a tear and break his record, statically speaking, he’s had a better year than 2022. Also has an absurd 221 OPS+

  4. honestly just describing this as “two seasons in the top 10” is impressive enough, since the top 10 is a mix of peak bonds, babe ruth and ted williams.

and i’ll just mention that for the first 3 or 4 months of his rookie year judge was putting up this level of numbers until he hurt himself.

  5. Even if you just look at a 200+ wRC+ in a full season (i.e. qualified hitters): Babe Ruth (9 times), Ted Williams (6 times), Barry Bonds (4 times), Aaron Judge (2 times), Mickey Mantle (2 times), Rogers Hornsby (2 times), Ty Cobb (2 times), Lou Gehrig, Mark McGwire.

Add in shortened seasons and you throw in Frank Thomas (1994), Jeff Bagwell (1994), and Juan Soto (2020).

    Unreal company.

  6. Baseball sub is full of ohtanilovers, wow, 50-50, first time ever, but no one is questioning how this happened in the second season with larger bases
