  1. Shohei and Mookie certainly are in the drivers seat on this, just drooling at the thought of rocking those mile high baseballs in Denver after the big series vs the Padres. Exciting times with the best record in baseball on the line.

  2. It’s pretty crazy that with 6 games remaining, the 2 likely scenarios the Dodgers face is either 1) a bye to the NLDS by virtue of having one of the two best records in the NL, or 2) playing in the WC series if the Padres keep up their hot play and the Dodgers hit an untimely cold stretch.

Dodgers probably would have run away with the division if not for regularly giving starts to Buehler and Miller out of necessity.

Edit: One thing that I fucking hate about this sub over the past 5 years is how the latest wave of bandwagoners are complete homers for the Dodgers, and saying “the Padres control their own destiny” triggers the homers. The fact is the Padres have played .700 baseball after the ASB while the Dodgers have played .627 baseball after the ASB. It’s nothing to get insecure about you fucking dweebs. The Padres have played amazing baseball to get to this point while the Dodgers have played great baseball. The Padres are probably the last team anyone wants to face in the playoffs right now on the NL side.

  3. Honestly, with the injuries we’ve had it’s kind of sad that we could have the best record. Get your shit together MLB

  4. That could change by this evening. I’m just focusing on the 3 game series with the Padres. They’re hot and have a shut down pitching staff. The Dodgers were comatose against the Rockies starting pitching until the later innings for at least the last 2 games. They can’t get off to a sluggish start in this series or they could get blown out. Especially if the Dodgers starters have to leave in the 3rd inning(s).

  5. the padres doing so well is probably the best possible thing that could’ve happened to the dodgers this season.

the last thing any of us could have wanted is a limp, beat-up squad coasting to the finish line in first place & a first round bye, only to face a team who’s been playing life-or-death baseball for a month already.
