  1. This is because one is the GOAT and the other is a great player. People need to stop comparing the two based on stats and use the eye test. Gronk was just on a whole different level. This isn’t to take away anything on the other great TE’s, but Gronk was just a different beast.

  2. 3-4 at times. 1)at the line the D lineman would shoulder check to throw him off his route and timing, 2)the Slot cb, 3)the spy LB and 4) safety over the top help.

  3. That’s because Gronk was the most dominant TE of all time full stop. Kelce, while a douche, is obscenely good and unfortunately one of the greatest TEs of all time. However, anyone who wants to say Gronk is inferior overall is silly af.

  4. I love how a huge emphasis on the broadcast last night going into the half was how distraught the Chiefs were not getting Kelce the ball. Like they were 2-0 running on all cylinders with Rice and Worthy who are phenomenal WRs and their biggest issue was Kelce wasn’t a part of their touchdowns/wins? Wtf

  5. Kelce has had a long healthy career as a great pass catcher. He’s more of a big slot receiver than a TE tho. Can’t be compared to gronk. Gronk was a better receiver and don’t even get me started on the blocking.

  6. Kelce was wiggly. Them hips didn’t lie. But when you get closer to 40 that shit is the first thing to go. No shame on it, time defeats us all in the end

  7. Gronk, when healthy and in his prime, is argubly the greatest football player ever, let alone TE.

But with Kelce’s consistency and longevity, I have no problem with people making the argument he is the best TE ever. People who say Gonzalez are kidding themselves, tho.

  8. To be fair, Kelce isn’t in his Prime anymore. Gronk wasn’t beating double and triple teams at the end either

  9. Gronk is the goat but you realize Kelce is 34 now right? It’s not surprising he is falling off now. Gronk was 29 last time at Patriots and retired at 32

  10. Dumb fans like you that make the rest of us look petty and insecure. You do know that Travis is 35 years old coming off of a 1000 yard season basically. Gronk was already retired years before 35, there’s no need to compare the 2 at this stage of Travis’ career

  11. Not gonna hate on kelce. But Gronk is the goat. Kelce is really really good tho but is about to be 35

  12. Very different player, really unfair to even compare the two. Kelce isn’t really a TE, he’s more like a huge slot receiver. Much closer to Hernandez. Gronk was an old school, tried and true TE and was utilized as such in the blocking game just as much as he was in the passing game. This basically made it very foolish to do traditional double teams on him like they do with Kelce, because they’d just start decoying and using him as a blocker, which would open up massive holes in the run game and make mediocre RBs look like studs. With Kelce, he’s a more dynamic receiver but a fairly weak blocker. So you can legitimately just bracket him like you would an elite slot guy and it probably isn’t gonna hurt you in the run game because of their scheme and his weakness as a run blocker.

  13. Other players also realized the only way to tackle him was to torpedo his knees

If players started targeting Kelces knees he wouldn’t have lasted as long either. Kelce has better stats but there’s a reason why we don’t say Frank Gore is a goat.

  14. Really annoying how everyone is arguing who the gOaT is between the 2, like sorry but it’s between gronk and Tony G. Kelce doesn’t quite have the peak that gronk had, or the longevity of TG. And let’s factor blocking into it as well, a good blocking TE is invaluable to the running game FG protection.
