  1. It’s such. Nice change having two catchers now that routinely make tough blocks and get the ball down to second in a hurry. Catcher was our one glaring defensive deficiency and that can matter in the post season.

  2. Good for him. Wish him success and that hopefully he can get his defense back on track for his future.

  3. Very curious how they manage the catching position next season. I could see them keeping Campusano for at least another season and resign Diaz or Higgy for at least one more year but I could also see them trading Campy and figuring it out until Salas is ready.

Out of all the rookies they’ve traded and kept, Campy has to be the most frustrating since 2021 since he had a lot of prospect value and was rumored to be in some big trades in the past and because he hasn’t panned out they could just cut bait in a trade

  4. I don’t see how he’s going to improve his defense. I think that’s as good as it’s going to get and it’s simply not good enough.

His bat isn’t good enough to make up for the poor defense, so I don’t really know where you go from here. We are still likely another year from seeing Salas or maybe a late September call up.

I think the team will look to resign one/both of our catchers. Higgy recent slump/age likely keeps his price tag lowish. Diaz I have no idea what he’s worth. His value seems to have fallen off a bit, but a resurgence here could help him recoup some of that. His age is also against him.

  5. He’s a major leaguer on a non-contending-team for sure. Just not quite at the level for a team looking to win playoff series (yet).

  6. I imagine Campy pulling up to his minor league assignment in a bad ass ride all blinged out like in the movie Major League
