[Auman] A rough start to 2024 for Bucs punter Jake Camarda, who ranked fifth in the NFL last year with a 50.1 average, but is 26th after three weeks with a 45.7 average this year. His net punting is closer — 41.2 last year, 39.8 in 2024, but not where he wants to be statistically.

  1. Special teams player of the Month this time last year. The drop off from last year to this year has been pretty significant though. Wonder what changed that’s made his punting much less effective.

He’s not dealing with an injury from what we know, and admittedly 3 games is a small sample size, but still we can’t afford bad punting when our offense is sputtering like last week.

  2. Ya know I noticed this and shrugged it off. But 50-60 yards of field position over the length of a game could really burn us in the close ones.

  3. Yeah he has been noticeably bad so far. What stood out to me is several punts coming off the side of his foot and landing short. Not sure if he’s not in sync with the snapper or if he’s dealing with something.
