“But they didn’t try”
Some fool yesterday said we should have offered 4. Aside from that being practically impossible, it’s also reckless.
Jayden is looking nice, but a player is never worth three first rounds picks imo
That’s ok, this sub will still cry about how we should’ve traded up for him…
It was a pipe dream. No one in their right mind, with an actual understanding of the NFL, would ever think that we had a shot at Daniels. Once the number two pick needed a QB, it would have taken a “dump this year’s draft, next year, and the top 3 picks from the following year.” Mike Ditka is not in the building
Washington considering the trade: The mystery box could be anything! It could even be a boat!
it sucks, but seeing kingsbury and daniels BALL knowing our coach and Gm wanted to bring in those 2 but literally could not because washington woudont trade down, gives me faith in their ability to pick our next QB and OC (cuz we’re totally drafting one if the cards fall right, and we totally aren’t keeping getsy at this rate.) i’m not sure we’re a playoff team this year, especially with all the defensive injuries, but i think we can get there if we keep letting the coach and Gm build.
Adam Peters, the new GM there, formerly of san fran said when scouting the qbs Daniels was the most like Brock Purdy. Really clean passer, cool under fire and athletic enough to extend plays, Daniels is more athletic obviously, but you get the picture. Its why they were unwilling to move off him for any other qb in the draft.
If the teams up there want one of the QBs themselves, they are not trading out. Trading up is only an option if there is a team, that don’t want to pick a QB.
Daniels looks good but Mahomes is so much better. Mahomes is gonna 3peat this year and that makes him the GOAT!
That’s crazy
Can’t trade up when the teams up top don’t want to trade back. Our issue is shit drafting when we’ve had top picks.
Yeah Washington was not letting him go lol
Once draft starts , u can trade next 3 1st rounders. So u can trade 4. Just have to wait til draft starts is how I interpret the rules
I don’t think any other fan base creates narratives out of thin air like ours.
Rumors are it was more than that, but the point still stands those 1st 3 picks were not for sale.
There was no way up to 2, we should all understand that, and fawn over Daniels as an unrealistic dream.
If Penix turns out to be a guy, then we can gripe.
Not like it would have mattered who was playing qb, all Getsys playbook consisted of is hb dives.
Good for Washington honestly. I’m not going to hate Kingbury for taking a different career opportunity. If you got offered a better job with safer stability, you’d have to be a Chiefs fan to not take it. Jayden Daniels was the real talent of the draft not Williams, Maye, Nix, McCarthy, or even Penix. With AP and TT’s preferred choices in OC and QB, it shows that they know who to pick for the job but unfortunately they didn’t have the resources to get them. I see us getting a better OC next season because don’t forget that AP and TT got hired later than every other established HC/GM, so they really couldn’t get the best staff.
Why overpay for a rookie qb when you can just be shit and draft your own? I get accelerating the process but it has to make sense. I feel like the team who ends up getting the bulk of the assets ends up better off than the team who gets just the one player. More examples to support the former than the latter.
WAS desperately needed a QB. Why would they give up their chance?
