  4. I wonder about your prediction that Sharks will finish around 5th to 7th last in the league as that depends on team chemistry taking hold or not among a large group of new faces. Mike Grier has created a competitive job test for his prospects and veterans, and jettisoned players that did not work out or up to his expectations last year. If Askarov, Celebrini and Smith reverse team culture and practice harder without getting hurt like Bedard in first year (broken jaw due to head down play), it may create chemistry with veterans and Warsofsky could quicken the process of rookie development. I think Toffoli will have a career high points year in his new role. Logan Couture's injury appears not to be resolved yet and is expected to return October 10, 2024. I expect major inconsistencies in Sharks and rookie mistakes which will lose them close games and overtime, but probably a season finish closer to the playoff teams, or about 16th last in the league or 10 places higher than you predict. Many injuries could sink this team to 5th last place, and deadline trades of UFAs could sink last half of season also.

Well, yeah,last season was brutal for the Sharks,BUT, GM Grier has made some good moves and dumped the dead weight off the roster–the coaching change will have time to take effect with the new season,and, I do believe they will improve from last season,but, no where near the playoffs this time,they are still several years away from playoff contention.
