  1. >“With a huge divisional game against the world champions, he is going to find a way to be out there again.” -Schefter

I’m kinda hoping this isn’t true, but Schefter was right about Herbert’s status last week so I’m not sure what to believe…

  2. This is just us playing games imo, I see dont them allowing him to play. Even if he’s at the same point or even slightly better than last weeks it’s just not worth it with the bye after. If we had tackles and didn’t have the bye it would be a different story.

  3. Lmao unless Herbert turns into Lamar Jackson and runs for his life, he’s gonna get killed out there. No way his ankle is ready

  4. If he can physically play he’ll play. I don’t think the health of the o-line will factor into the decision, even though maybe it should. But it doesn’t seem to be in line with the team identity to sit your star QB because you’re scared of your own offensive line.

  5. Here’s a devil’s advocate outlook on this possibility.

Your head coach, his coaching staff, and even his front office, should be able to elevate players within a scheme. That’s what the great ones do for a team. You hire guys like Jim Harbaugh, because he doesn’t just make your best players better, he makes *everyone* better.

Look at what the Rams did to the 49ers. Sean McVay is a genius. The way he got that monstrously-terrible OL to play far above average is a miracle. Stafford wasn’t really that pressured all game, and Nick Bosa was neutralized. That’s what a great coach does. Granted, he’s had nearly a decade to build this team from the ground up into what it is today. While Harbaugh’s only had 6-8 months.

Now, obviously it’s a totally different situation considering Herbert has a high ankle sprain, versus Stafford being relatively healthy. Despite that, Stafford’s still an aging QB with limited mobility.

Anyway, you sign guys like Jim Harbaugh, Sean McVay, and Mike Tomlin – the list goes on and on – to make your team competitive 24/7, every single week. Would I want to see Herbert out there behind backups at OL? No. Would I blame the team for starting him? Not one bit. If there’s one thing we can guarantee, it’s that Harbaugh will not willingly give up on this big divisional matchup *at home*.

  6. As much as I want to see our backup QB cook the chiefs.. I think Herbert can still beat the chiefs without an offensive line and a full week of preparing.

  7. Go back and watch the game. The very 1st snap, a handoff to JK he was stiff as a board. WATCH his right leg specifically and then get back to me. He’s a warrior for sure, but he was a damn statue back there. It was only a matter of time. And shocker ⚡⚡⚡ look what happened.

  8. I really hope he sits and let it heal. Season is still young we need you healthy for the stretch run, Herbie.

  9. Herbert needs to stop doing this, he loves firing him way into lineups with a mild injury and making it moderate/severe. Sit this guy
