Last Thursday, I went to my first Cubs game against the Nationals, and it was a blast! The game was intense with plenty of lead changes, and the Cubs came out on top.

At the end, the whole stadium erupted into singing 'Go, Cubs, Go' by Steve Goodman—everyone was dancing and cheering. Now the song is stuck in my head!

For those who’ve been to multiple games, is this always the vibe? And does the song stick with you too?

  1. I saw Steve Goodman perform when I was in college so I really love this song. Of course it’s in my head after every win!

  2. Unfortunately. I love the cubs but, and I hate to say it, I find the song really cringy. It has the energy of something you’d hear at Chuck e Cheese. Like when they clinched the pennant in 16, I thought it detracted from the vibe of such a legendary moment. But the fans seem to like it and it’s ultimately harmless so who gives a fuck what I think!

  3. This song is an historical connection and everlasting reminder that baseball is only one game at a time, and it can be pure joy for that one game

  4. Friend, go cubs go gets stuck in my head on a cold February afternoon. Nothing but the sweet sounds of Steve gets me through the winter

  5. This song is silly and fun, but for anyone here that isn’t familiar with Steve Goodman, please go explore his entire catalog. He is one of the most brilliant song writers ever.

  6. I seem to recall them playing KC and the sunshine band “get down tonight” after wins like 20+ years ago. I liked that much better

  7. To people who don’t like the song (Cubs fans and non-Cubs fans) I say lighten up and have fun
