[Friedman] Vancouver has Guillaume Brisebois & Jett Woo on waivers

  1. Not surprising and would be shocked if either get claimed but both guys are great for Abby so hopefully we do retain them.

  2. Will Breezebwah ever make the team? 😭 He’s been with us since like 10 years or something. 🥲

  3. Ah so begins the annual tradition of people worrying about losing players on waivers completely ignoring the fact every team has a Jett Woo and tweeners.

  4. Man, the Jett Woo experience is over. I remember when we drafted him, people were drawing comparisons to Bieksa because of his snarl and RH shot. But at 24, you do need to make significant progress or become another team’s project.

  5. Breeze has been an absolute trooper for the org. Hope his health continues to improve and he can play some hockey this year.

  6. An underrated part of having the AHL team here, or at least close is that Abbotsford is much nicer than Utica.

Tweener and depth guys will probably take into consideration that they get to live in BC rather than middle of nowhere upstate New York when signing.

  7. I kinda wish Brisebois would head to Europe and make some $$$ for himself. Love having him here in van but you gotta cut hay while you can. That being said maybe he sees a transition within the organization to some kind of coaching role once he retires? He has to know everyone in the organization by now.

  8. Gotta feel for Brisebois. He really looked like he had pinned down a depth D spot on the roster a few years ago before the concussion

  9. Woo struggles every year in training camp and preseason. I thought this time would be different because he played top pairing in Abby(maybe he was carried by Wolanin) but it seems he just doesn’t have it in him.

  10. I wouldn’t be upset if either get claimed at this point. Their roster spot is more valuable to us than their performances since turning pro.

  11. I thought this was a given even before training camp, the Canucks D have basically been pencilled in already. I can see call ups this year for both players though.
