  1. I know it’s the Rockies but it’s great to see everyone taking these games seriously. Hope they get the sweep tomorrow

  3. Yoshi looked excellent. Ump screwed him on that first run because it should have been strike 3.

Hopefully we get good umpires for the playoffs.

    One more game

  4. Padres pulled the pussiest move in the world and sat Arraez today. Not surprised at all actually. One of the most classless teams in the league.

Hopefully Ohtani goes 5-5 tomorrow and wins the triple crown anyway.

  5. Wrobleski was damn locked in on the mound tonight

Yamamoto reached 5IP, and it’s 1ER, not 2. We knew the ump tagged that run on Yamamoto

  6. Arraez is going to get baited into sitting tomorrow. Shohei’s gonna go 5-5 and win the triple crown!

  7. Missed the game due to my cold, was napping at the time, good thing I have the game recorded so I can watch it tomorrow.

  8. If Arraez…

    1. goes 0/0, then Sho needs to go 4/4 or 4/5

    2. goes 0/1, then Sho needs to go 4/4 or 4/5 or 4/6, or ties at 3/3

    3. goes 0/2, then Sho needs to go 3/3 or 4/5, or ties at 3/4

    4. goes 0/3, then Sho needs to go 3/3 or 3/4 or better*, or ties at 3/5

    5. goes 1/1, then Sho needs to go 5/5

    6. goes 1/2, then Sho needs to go 5/5 or 5/6, or ties at 4/4

    7. goes 1/3, then Sho needs to go 4/4 or 5/6, or ties at 4/5

    8. goes 1/4, then Sho needs to go 4/4 or 4/5 or better*

    9. goes 1/5, then Sho needs to go 3/3 or 4/5 or 4/6

    10. goes 2/2, then Sho needs to go 6/6

    11. goes 2/3, then Sho need to go 6/6, or ties at 5/5

    12. goes 2/4, then Sho needs to go 5/5 or better*, or ties at 5/6

    13. goes 2/5, then Sho needs to go 5/5 or 5/6

    14. goes 3/3, then it’s pretty much impossible

    15. goes 3/4, then Sho ties at 6/6

    16. goes 3/5, then Sho needs to go 6/6

    17. goes 4/4, 4/5, or 5/5, then it’s pretty much impossible

    * “or better” means continues getting hits without getting out.

It’s highly unlikely Shohei wins the AVG race between the two, especially if the Padres game the competition. Both games start at the same time, so the Padres will be making game time decisions on if or when to bench Arraez to protect his lead.

From the Padres POV, they shouldn’t play Arraez, but if they do, they should bench him if he start off 0/1, and especially if he starts off 0/2. I honestly can’t see a 0/3 or worse Arraez being kept in the game.
