Potentially a sad last day for us cubbies. Losing a legend is never easy.
Build the statue!
I’m crying. Game 6 of the 2016 NLCS is the greatest Cubs pitching performance of all time. Thank you, Professor.
And nice way to go out. Thank you, Professor.
He was my favorite in the rotation. I actually have some original art of him that a local artist drew. What you always got with Kyle was a cool, calm, professional outing, and even when he would get lit up, he just took it in stride.
We’ll always love you Kyle, thank you for everything.
Hopefully returns some day as part of the coaching staff. Either way, thanks for everything #28!
He should coach—one of the smartest guys in baseball.
There are very few Cubs pitchers that were as enjoyable to watch at their best as Kyle was, today was Vintage Kyle.
He was great today and I wish him the very best. I do not think he’ll return next year but I don’t think he’ll retire either. But I would not be mad if they resigned him at a low rate for some rotation depth, so long as they also sign a TOR guy
Of all the cubs that were on the 2016 team, he’s in the top 10, maybe even top 5 for ones that are likely to have a statue and/or a number retirement. I personally think the number one pick is Anthony tho.
One of the best pitchers in the past 10 years and a favorite Cub. Thank you for the memories and good luck to the professor.
I remember reading about him as a prospect for the Rangers before we got him. Thanks for everything Professor.
One of my all time favorites. His calm demeanor was always so bad ass. Thanks for everything, Kyle!
Hate this. Feel like I’m losing another 2016 guy again just because
Extend Hendricks! (bracing for impact)
No matter what with the ups and downs, professor will always be a CUBBIE… thanks Professor for all the years..CUBBIE 4 LIFE
