* Edmonton and Calgary did it on Sep 23 * Nashville and Florida did it on Sep 22

Curious about the logistics of this, would the assistant coach act as head coach for the other squad? Surely the coaching staff behind the benches would be pretty thin on each side

The Sabres are in Europe, the wings AHL squad will play the Amerks basically.
Blues have done this multiple times in the past it’s nothing new?

I guess you don’t understand training camp pre season play. All teams do this.
The only thing different here is that split-squad games are usually played earlier in the preseason schedule.
