Personally, as a Habs fan, I think of what Xhekaj did is more dangerous that what Larkin did, and I belive that's why he received a fine. But all of that start that if the refs maked the right call on Paré with his intentional knee on knee on Laine, all of that will never gonna happen of what we saw yesterday.
Don’t knee a guy, but if you do, be prepared to get wrecked.

Bad take on this one, neither is worse than the other. Both went out with intent to hit. Both landed the hit. How is getting overpowered and punched in the back of the head multiple times while being held up so the refs couldn't help, better than a deflected cross check to the head due to the player leaning over? We all now Montreal is your favorite team so the bias is expected.

The dumb thing is, nothing is happening to the idiots who are going knee on knee. So you essential force teammates to defend their guys with violence however that comes. So what Larkin learned from from the crap he's taken over the last few years is that nothing happens and you have to deal with it your own way. The department of players "safety" is a joke for allowing this crap to go on in fecking preseason games and regular season games. Love Larkin as our Captain and would love Xhekaj on our blue line.

We should conclude that a knee on knee is allowed or tolerated in the NHL.
A hockey stick to the face is always punishable. A knee on knee? Not really
Knee on knees can be career ending. Larkin is team Captain and you expect them to lead and step up. Maybe, it would’ve been better for a cleaner hit or Larkin to light up the lamp or even drop the gloves. This seems to be happening a lot this preseason. On purpose or by accident who knows. Maybe the guys just haven’t prepared this year and their skating isn’t to form yet.
A lot of the younger prospects are very eager to work their way up in the organization. The emotions are maybe getting to these guys and they’re not thinking clearly.
