It All Comes Down to This: Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets

The Atlanta Braves had a chance to clinch a postseason spot on Sunday, but after falling behind early the offense couldn’t come up with the big hit.

They’ll still have two more chances on Monday as the Mets come back to town, and they’ll have Spencer Schwellenbach and Chris Sale ready. But can the offense get the hits they need to send them to the postseason?

  1. Schwelly threw a total of 9 curves and splitters. The game before that, it was 31 combined.

He will mix up his pitches and look like a different pitcher.

  2. @DUSTIN REECE SNITKER COST THE BRAVES AT LEAST 10-15 GAMES WITH HIS BULLPEN MAL-PRACTICE! IF WE WIN THOSE GAMES, WE WIN DIVISION! IF WE WIN "ONE" OF THOSE GAMES, WE DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MONDAY!

  3. Charlie's last game of his career was a thud oh well. They had chances couldn't get the big hit. I wonder if they should have started Sale I know why they didn't but he might still might have to pitch tomorrow.

  4. I am so mad that we didn't pinch hit Kelenic for Laureano when they brought the righty in. Had such an opportunity there and I thought that would be a great spot for Kelenic. Then why pinch hit d'Arnaud in the 9th when you could have put him in for Murphy with the tying run on 1st? That 8th inning was completely botched by Snitker. I have been a big fan of him throughout this run, but here lately he has had some head scratching moments.

  5. Doubleheader with both teams needing 1 win.. my money is on that. The winner of the first game priorities totally change afterward. For example, would Braves start Sale in game 2 after winning game 1. Doubt it, throw out an arm not too valuable. Same prob goes for the Mets..
