  1. On the one hand, Mahomes is in a funk and the entire offense is dead. On the other, though, the defense is playing well and 4-0, is well, 4-0.

The bigger thing to keep in mind is every team has flaws. The Bills were a juggernaught and the “scariest team in football” 48 hours ago, now they just got blown out by a team that we’ve beaten fairly handily, twice, in the last 10 games. The Texans are struggling, and we’ve got a two-game lead on the Ravens for anything. So the AFC is badly flawed.

We should definitely be concerned by Mahomes’ play and the injuries on offense, but we don’t need to be doomers, either.

  2. Still can’t believe Mahomes threw a horrendous pick and then went and destroyed his best WR’s knee.

If we fail to threepeat that’ll be Exhibit B on why, and hopefully it doesn’t have any negative impact beyond this season.

  3. Worst part of Mahomes injuring Rice is if he had actually tried any sort of tackle Rice would have been perfectly fine. But because Pat lowered his shoulder to just kinda… block the ball carrier, he ends up not being able to see in front of him and rams full force into Rice’s leg.

Another example of why coaches don’t want QBs out there trying to tackle.

  4. I am curious to see what the Chiefs do with Rice’s roster spot. Do they promote Ross, Remigio, or Washington from the practice squad or bring in a free agent, like they did when Pacheco went down? Or both?

  5. Man losing Rice fucking sucks. I wanted to see how much he grew in this offense and how good his stat line would be by the end.

I wanted to finally be happy to have a true dominant WR1 again. He was becoming a threat in all parts of the field too…

I guess this is why threepeating is hard. Three years of injury luck is unlikely

  6. My heart tells me that the injuries that look the worst are actually the better outcomes and the ones where there are no contact are the ones where a guy can be out for a year.

  7. Slayton from the Giants is an option for a trade too in addition to Amari Cooper

Would probably cost less trade capital. Worse than Amari for sure though. Would be like re-adding MVS. Just a role guy but at least league average WR

  8. Rice being injured is nobody’s fault. It is a collision sport full of fast large men. Shit happens. Players collide. It sucks so much to lose Rice. But it’s a shitty reality of the sport. Nothing we can do except eat this injury.

  9. The loss of Rice hurts but as long as Mahomes is under center and Reid is on the sideline I truly believe the Chiefs can win any game.

  10. Is there any realm of a possibility of a trade for a decent WR? I know no team with any hope for the playoffs will help us so I’d imagine it has to be a team off to a terrible start. Salary cap wise I have no idea what’s even possible.

  11. What would Chiefs have to trade assuming they want to pick up an Amari Cooper? I assume
It would be half our defense.

Not saying that the chiefs need to do this, but curious what it would take
