  1. This organization is done. Ownership and front office suck ass, the product on the field sucks ass, and the farm system is garbage now. Busch will have many empty seats for years to come. Thanks assholes.

  2. its crazy that mozeliak is talking about change, when his position is the one that needs to be changed the most, followed by marmol. having a lame duck in that position is just beyond baffling. buddy drove this franchise into the ground. talking about his 2011 WS… that was 13 years ago. all the success he saw was from players that were already cornerstones of the franchise. just incredibly disappointed with this news.

  3. How about spending some $ fellas? A few more investments like Sonny seem to be in order. One or two big time/veteran bats wouldn't hurt. Listen to your players like Contreras. They know what is what.

  4. Bloom is a great fit in St Louis! I'm excited to see how his vision unfolds. Mo does deserve more respect for the moves over the years. Heyward, Beltran, Arenado, and Goldy were great players he brought in. I do think he left a lot on the table lately, and Chaim looks to be a great reset button for the org.

  5. A strong group of young players? You’ve screwed up Walker and hopefully he can rebound after this last call up. Winn is the only guy I have any hope for right now. Bill, your problem is all you do is live in the past. Especially when it comes to Mozeliak. Other teams actually hold their executives accountable yet you let the man continue to wave his “I won the 2011 World Series” flag for the last 13 years. He’s traded off numerous assets that have gone on to bigger and better things while getting nothing in return. It’s sad you allowed this to go on this long because this didn’t need to happen. Mozeliak has hidden behind the work of Jocketty and Lunhow and you continue to herald him as if he’s Branch Rickey. Your showing today was embarrassing.

  6. Bowtie Jonny anticipates payroll going down, says all I need to know. Billy the third says attendance is pretty good compared to some other teams. Bull shit excuses, platitudes and jargon. No real solutions

  7. Tells you what you need to know, when the first time Bill DeWitt III spoke after being asked about MLB payroll, he almost immediately shifted into blaming the fans and referencing attendance. You're the 4th richest owners in MLB, you have the resources to draw fans back and fix the player development pipeline without sacrificing the MLB team payroll in the mean time. But no, make your fans the scapegoats, that will put butts back in seats.

  8. As soon as Woo started the tough questions and the rest of the media followed suit, of course it was time to cut the presser short. I mean why have any accountability in this organization when there hasn’t been any since Jocketty got fired?

  9. You have me so messed up this team is horrible. CHANGE IS NEEDED like you said and that’s starts with dropping mo and marmol. YOUR ATTENDANCE IS AT A ALL TIME LOW. This is horrible you all no longer know how to run a team for the love of god please get good staff. And drop the old trash ones.

  10. How did Dewitt pay for ballpark village. Did he divert funds from the cardinals organization to build it. Last year payroll was somewhere around $165 million. They couldn’t have spent $5 million less on the team and put it to the minors

  11. I would have loved to have heard this question posed to Mozeliak….”Mo, what rotten bill of goods did you sell to Arenado to get him to opt in because he was all about winning a championship and guys are all about pinching pennies and cutting corners?”

  12. How did Dewitt pay for ballpark village. Did he divert funds from the cardinals organization to build it. Last year payroll was somewhere around $165 million. They couldn’t have spent $5 million less on the team and put it to the minors

  13. It is time for NEW OWNERSHIP and John Mozeliak FIRED!!! These idiots do not have a clue and the fans are turning on them all… They are more worried about filling the stands than have a great team… They do not have a clue and have run this team in the ground over GREED…

  14. Tell me when the DeWitt's grow a pair and sell the team. They are responsible for Moz and this dog shit team. Moz wasn't responsible for anything. Sure he brought in some decent players but how many decent players have we squandered? Way too many to count. Clear that whole front office. They're all shit. Don't buy tickets next season. Send them a clear message that we want them all gone!

  15. My biggest issue with this is Mo and Chaim coming out and saying that things need to change and that's what we're gonna do, then the DeWitt's start chiming in and are completely unwilling to accept any blame or really even admit that anything is really wrong, just that "the league is changing so they need to change too". Then, Mo… and to some extent, Chaim… start walking back the aggressive nature of how they started this presser and start leaning more towards the DeWitt's "well, it's not really broken, we're just gonna tighten it up a bit." Basically, it sounds like the DeWitt's are too proud to admit that they've let the city/fans down with incompetence. They're too busy trying to point back at former success to acknowledge that this team is in bad shape, and they're too arrogant to admit that this is more lip service and they think they can speak over the fans to keep them on the hook. Maybe changes will be made, but just giving Chaim more responsibility and announcing that he will be the man in charge AFTER next season is not enough. Keeping Mo and Oli in their current roles, even for one more year, is telling the fans that they're not really fully on board with a hard reset. More like a slight shuffling.

  16. It really seems like Cardinal fans have become so fair weathered these days. I realize last year was a horrible season. But this team did improve by 12 games this season. It wasn’t enough to get into the postseason. But all of the bashing is really making our fans look like the worst in baseball. Believe it or not, the Cardinals won the same amount of games in 2006 as this year.

Before the Cardinals won in 2006, it had been 24 years since they had won a World Series. Was there this kind of energy from fans during that 24 year span? I think not. And there were several years of missing the playoffs. Including 2010, the year before they proceeded to go to 4 straight NLCS. It really feels like fans got spoiled by this team’s overall success from 2004 to 2015. Fans need to realize how rare the talent was during those times. Pujols, Molina, Edmonds, Rolen, Holliday, Berkman, Beltran, Chris Carpenter, Wainright, etc. I don’t think fans realize just how hard it is for a team with mostly an average payroll to have a collection of talent like that. I am a diehard fan now and always will be no matter what. That’s what being a fan truly means. Remaining loyal to your team through good and bad.

  17. Rebuild without admitting they're rebuilding.

All the big name players will be gone – a fire sale to make the team younger, and they can keep from spending money.

Whether you like it or not, Oli isn't going anywhere.
Besides what manager wants to come into a situation like this??
