Has he earned your respect yet?

Tired of people saying this man is overrated.

  1. Mark my words, Mr Child of God is about to become a stone cold killer this October.

  2. It was a bit of a down year for our fishy boy, but I have faith in him to make up for it both during this postseason and the next 7 years of his contract.

I do find it funny that people wanted to cut NImmo – was his 8-year extension really THAT quiet?

  3. Lmao, I had that same phone back in the day. I never got into that type of shirt, though. I was more of an American Eagle graphic t-shirt kind of kid. I had several with the giant Eagle logo stitched on like a patch.

  4. I have been a Nimmo Stan for years but this has been by far the worst season of his career.

Still a solid season, which says a lot about how high he’s set the bar for himself.

I worry he’s selling out way too much for power. He hit 5 home runs in September but he slashed just .190/.243/.368

He’s not a power hitter. I would so much prefer the elite .370 OBP guy with a 135 wRC+ we saw in the past with 10 home runs instead of 20-25 bombs and far inferior offensive numbers across the board.

  5. Pete Rose was given the name “Charlie Hustle” by the Yankees as a goof because Rose would run to first base on a walk. Remind you of anyone?

  6. Not his greatest year but he had a lot of huge moments. I mean, there were so many. He seemed to be in the middle of all the big rallies, often dealing the big blow

  7. Love the man but if you told me this was a photo of a school shooter I wouldn’t be a bit surprised

  8. A long time ago. Was happy when they decided to bring him back when he was a free agent.
Already plays well in NY and produces. Any other CF/FA May not have been able to play under NYC’s pressure. Folks tend to fold. He doesn’t and hasn’t.

  10. He’s generally been super clutch so he’s never really lost respect at the plate or in the field. Despite his super struggle post-All Star Break and his batting average and OPS going below Pete’s, I still trust him more to come through with a big hit than Alonso.

  11. Not his greatest season but he always works hard and seems to be a decent human being, so he’s always had my respect.
