Lineup

  1. VINNNNNNNNIE, WERE BACK.

That said, lineup isn’t perfect. Kinda wish Pham was leading off and that we had Renfroe over Melendez (maybe DeJong over Garcia for how good he is vs Burnes), but it’s generally pretty good.

  2. I miss having a good lead off guy, but I guess Massey is fine given the choices. He, Pham, Isbel and Garcia have all been pretty bad as far as getting on base this year.

At this point, I’m not sure why we’re not just saying screw-it and batting BWJ lead off. I’m sure there’s some sort of statistical significance with regards to the one-spot and two-spot and the opportunity to drive-in runs. But you’re also increasing chances of an additional AB.

  3. Man when Vinnie said he wasn’t viewing his season as being over I thought “I’m glad he views it that way but…” So awesome he’s really back. Hopefully he’s not too rusty but even still he’s a clear upgrade

  4. It’s wild how adding one proper major league bat makes this lineup look a lot less inadequate.

It ain’t perfect, but the presence of Vinnie is huge.

  5. I can’t believe MJ got the first game start. Dude is batting .206 and OBP at a miserable .273

  6. Q knows something I don’t, but I don’t love this lineup. Pham needs to lead off, and I would feel more confident in Renfroe over MJ and Dejong over Garcia
