As much as I would love it, his contract would not solve our problems. I would prefer to spend his contract on two .800+ ops players and would cover more of the lineup than just one player of .950 ops. Things like the bullpen, a proper backup to Kirk, Vlad AND Bo extensions. Honestly would root for Adames being one of the signings as he’s been amazing.
If I’m Soto and seriously considering Toronto, my first question is “Why hasn’t my good buddy Vladdy been extended yet?”
I do believe that an extension with Vlad could play a factor as it shows a commitment and a plan forward

Soto is not signing here. Would love to be proven wrong, but I just don’t see it.
I can’t imagine this, the Jays aren’t trading Vladdy to the Yankees
