  1. As a bruins fan I love swayman but I wouldn’t give him more than 8×8 with our track record with goalies and him never being a full time starter. Hopefully both sides can find a reasonable solution

  2. In his all-star career, Neely barely made $8 million over his entire, Ulf Samuelsson shortened playing career.
And here's this barely drafted pick from Alaska turning down $8 million a YEAR on a long term deal.
Neely is about to lose his mind, regretting that he didn't keep Ullmark instead, and watch some other team twist in the wind putting up with his antics.

  3. 8 x $8 million is high for a goalie who is, in all honesty, is unproven as a bona fide starter. The fact that Swayman is still holding out after an offer like that is frankly ridiculous and even if he signs I could see him getting traded in a few years anyway

  4. If Swayman thinks he deserves for more than 8×8 then he is out of his mind. Swayman was protected behind Ullmark so I don't know what for him and his agent would believe that they deserve more than that? Only 4 goalies are currently earning more than 8 mil per (not counting Carey Price) and Swayman is not even the best goalie from his draft class…Bruins should just not even bother to budge and let him just sit at home and wait Swayman to kill his own career.

  5. Swayman to CBJ for Elvis Merzlikins and Kirill Marchenko. Or Swayman to CBJ for Elvis and another package of players. Zach Werenkski, Dmitri Voronkov, or Kent Johnson might interest Boston. CBJ can afford to pay Swayman. Swayman gets CBJ up past the salary cap floor. Pens fan just taking a guess according to money and salary cap implications.

  6. I follow the Bruins and alot of the talk in the media is to trade Swayman to Anaheim or a Western Conference team for a forward and a defenseman or forward and another goalie. Many people are tired of Swayman because he hasn't been a full time goalie asking for 8 to 10.

  7. Laine had 119 points in his last 129 games. Its mind boggling how many people think he was a scrub his entire rimw in columbus. Last season was the outlier. Before that his preveious two seasons he was a point per game. He was going ro add plenty of offemse

  8. I’m glad cam said it. I’m a bruins fan enough is enough sway. You’re not the guy to set the goalie market. 8×8 and not taking it is just greed and now we trade him

  9. Hoffman is mid 30s and has been fading/declining last few years. I think he was just taking up a roster spot on the Sharks (basement team last year). Basically he already had 1 foot out of the league

really it's just time to retire. Late bloomer. Nice career

Swayman is a good goalie…but he's never started more than 43 games a season. Has he shown enough to warrant that kind of $? and commitment?

  10. Boston just flabbergasted that a player is unwilling to take a discount to play there. And if they were a contender just entering their cup window, I would be too, but Boston is definitely on the downswing, which is why I can definitely see Swayman's perspective here. Why lowball yourself when it's going to be rough years with plenty of cap space coming up, and by the time they could be in contention again, the cap will have gone up to probably 100 million or so. So just pay the man, do the inevitable rebuild/retool, and be ready in three, four, five years or however long it's going to take.

  11. I agree with you Shannon, i don't get Neely, why would you ever give negotiations details to the media. I can't figure it why the Bruins have up on Ullmark if they were going to treat Swayman this way.

  12. I’m so confused about what happened yesterday with Sway and the Bruins. Why would he turn down an 8×8? He’s not gonna get a better deal anywhere. He knows he’s not worth more than that. I’m a huge Bruins fan and I love him but I’m not even sure he’s worth $8m per season. He should be jumping at that offer. Supposedly his agent is kinda shady and has done this in the past even when the player was happy with the offer, so I’m not convinced that’s not the issue.

  13. Swayman is playing chicken with the Bruins. If the Bruins come out strong and are leading the division by mid November, Swayman will crack and sign for an amount closer to the Bruins' offer. If Boston is in the race for a wildcard, the Bruins will have to do something like 10.5 for a year. Either way Swayman is not going to be a Bruin long term.

  14. Bruins situation is comical 😅
As a Habs fan I saw Laine as a possible flip in 2 seasons to a competitive team for assets or picks. He still has a season to prove himself. I Beleive Kapanen or Roy can step up and produce 20-25 Goals on that 2nd line. So it sucks we can't play with our new toys in MTL but unconsequential …
Hope Laine swift recovery. I wonder if MTL is starting to regret drafting Reinbacher that injury looked clumsy 8:34

  15. I would buy a jersey with a special patch in honour of the Gaudreau brothers. It could all be a line and go to a charity or their families. Opening night is gonna hurt
