Bernstein: ‘Hoping for overperformance is an unacceptable plan for the Chicago Cubs’

If hoyer is there next year, it will be same results.
Jed talks semantics. Time to go. He's had more than enough chances. Instead of banking on sure shots he wants to find gems and look the genius.
Tell Hoyer Arizona is out so mission accomplished
“We’re always looking for good players. So we’ll try to make our perpetual 2 win player into a 5 win player” 🧐🧐🧐
Who else wishes a Chicago team had offered the GM position to a Score talking head over the years? Bring a GM isn’t running a fantasy team in which YOU get to choose who is willing to play on your team and who is willing to trade your struggling talent for a player who will immediately produce on your team. So the Cubs spent tons of money and wound up in the Sam position as the White Sox: out of the playoffs? Who cares? Wasn’t it fun for a while? Enjoy every season. Win or lose. Get angry/frustrated if that makes you happy.
Then get back in the saddle next year. Or don’t. Find a new adventure. And enjoy that. Enjoy every season in anything you pursue.
Cubs tied the Cardinals this year but spent $50m more than the Cardinals, yet the Cardinal fans are furious, and their front office transition has already started and is announced. They are laughing at our salary level and front office. Thanks Jed. Thanks Tom. I don’t care what the Cardinals do or what their fans think. But it’s a real difference. And don’t compare us to the Brewers salary level, record, or talent. It’s time for the Cubs fan base to be furious with the outcome and the process and the leadership.
All a ton of talk to say they're not going to Spend the 💰 needed…..
