Team Identity This Season

Hey everyone! I grabbed this still from the most recent blueprint episode Leafs media released. This was from a scene of what looked like the start of training camp. Clearly, this is the way Berube is expecting the team to play this year.

Not a lot surprising here. I’m glad they’ve got mentally tough in there because I really do think that’s a huge part of our issues. I think we’ve seen the relentless and heavy physical play especially reflected in the PK so far this pre season.

Hoping we see this on the ice when it matters. Excited for the season to get under way!

  1. Would be surprised to see them actually play this way. They haven’t been relentless or heavy since the Tucker/Roberts/Domi days.

  2. North and heavy is the thing I want to see most. My biggest gripe with the Keefe era was his desire for possession on the permitter. I think they just need to play a simpler North/ South game and attack through the middle of the ice

  3. Here’s a fun exercise. What do you think our team identity was last year? Feel free to be as creative as possible.

  4. No south movements allowed, only time the puck moves south is after we score a goal 😂

  5. I for one am looking forward to seeing them push this paradigm to whole new levels of synergized self-actualizationism!

  6. While this is the right direction, emblazoning a wall with these buzzwords isn’t going to impact much imo. It has to come organically on the ice.

It wasn’t like the previous signage said “Timid, Skill-focused, East-West, Drop Pass is Jesus, Possession Above All Else.”
