Charm City Classic | Royals Out-Duel Orioles in AL Wild Card Game 1

The Royals sent rotation ace Cole Ragans to the mound to start the franchise’s first playoff game since 2015 in Game 1 of the American League Wild Card Series vs. the Baltimore Orioles. Ragans matched the former-Cy Young Award-winner and All-Star Corbin Burnes blow-for-blow in his playoff debut, tossing 6.0 shutout innings and striking out 8 while scattering just 4 hits against. The score would stay deadlocked at 0-0 until the 6th inning when a two-out hit off the bat of Bobby Witt Jr. would drive home Maikel Garcia to give the Royals the lead. A combination of Sam Long, Kris Bubic, and Lucas Erceg would shut down the Orioles in relief of Ragans, with Erceg locking down the final four outs, to give the Royals a 1-0 win and a 1-0 series lead in the best-of-three Wild Card Series.

  1. I'm a Yankees fan,and watched this game. Good game on both sides, but since I hate the Orioles, I'm rooting for the Royals to win the series, and have another playoff series between the Yankees and the Royals just like the 70's.

  2. When all you need is one run to win then thats pretty awesome. Here's hoping they win again tomorrow. With how good the pitching is, we just need the bats to come alive and we could make it far

  3. I could be wrong, but didn't that stadium's outfield fences used to be much closer? Like it used to be one of the easiest parks to hit a home run out of right? I'm sitting here watching this video and when some of the balls are coming off the bat? I'm like, "that's trouble." Nope. It's a flyout. Lol๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
