Josh Jacobs appreciation post. I’m tired of media acting like Aaron jones is greatly out performing Jacobs so far this year.

Last game was hilarious because given the outcome of the game Jacobs had more yards per carry and had half the attempts because we were on the comeback the whole game. This is not an Aaron jones hate post because I would never hate on that man but I’m not going to tolerate the Josh Jacobs put down either.

  1. I’m not sure about the claimed media narrative but the jury is still out on this offseason move. Of course Jacobs had been fantastic. The fact is that the Packers knew they could have had Jones for $7m and chose to pay Jacobs twice that amount. The decision was presumably in large part due to Jones’ injury history and the season is still early so the story is far from told. The really unfortunate part is it seems Jones is exactly what the Vikings needed and has been a godsend for them, in part responsible for the Vikings becoming the favorite to win our division and for many the favorite to win the NFC.

  2. Jacobs has a few big runs called back for penalties. He’s getting good yards but hasn’t had many carries yet.

  3. Unfortunately he still hasn’t scored a touchdown yet, if I’m not mistaken. Probably my fault for drafting him this year.

  4. It’s the fantasy community. Jacobs has had bad luck when it comes to TDs this year, and that means his fantasy numbers are down from what people expected. But his total yards are still great and he’s due for positive TD regression.

On top of that, the fantasy community is concerned with the number of carries Emmanuel Wilson is getting and that leaves an impression of a time share, making Jacobs less valuable in their minds. It’s the same situation Aaron Jones was in for his entire career until this year because it’s just how the Packers handle the RB position.

But fantasy football really doesn’t matter at all, so don’t be concerned with the people disappointed in Josh Jacobs right now.

  5. It probably has to do with the Vikings’ 4-0 record. Not saying I agree with it. I don’t, and the numbers don’t lie. But I get that’s how some people see it.

    It’s a long season.

  6. Let Aaron jones have a half against the titans. Almost all of his yards are from those two quarters in one game.

  7. Josh Jacobs has big numbers, but his impact has been a bit lacking compared to these others

  8. We’re probably 1-3 if we have Jones instead of Jacobs this year. I don’t think Jones could’ve done what Jacobs did for us in the Colts game, Jacobs in that game had more carries than Jones has ever had in a game in his career. Jones would’ve been completely gassed halfway through the 2nd quarter, not a knock on him they’re just a different style of player

  9. And Jacob’s only had 9 carries for 51 yards as we had to play comeback for 1/2 the Vikings game. I’m excited about us getting him the ball more on the ground. Let’s get him some TD’s!

  10. Aaron Jones is an incredible player. It hurts that we didn’t re-sign him even if he is nearly thirty.

  11. I love Aaron Jones, he’s one of my favorite Packers of all time, but c’mon. Anyone who’s rooted for him for an extended amount of time know it’s only a matter of time before a somewhat minor injury keeps him out for a month or longer.

  12. Jacobs is a bruiser back. He has a lot of ugly runs but will wear down the defense and pop off for a big one. Unfortunately because of his ugly runs it’s easy to jump to conclusions

  13. Remember is better to let go of a good player a year early instead of a year late. As much as it pains me, the Packers were correct to move from Jones. I wanted him around his entire career, but that was untenable. I was stoked when we signed Jacobs, but I knew Jones was gone after that happened.

  14. Derrick Henry retired after having a below average year for himself ran for *JUST* 1180 yards and turning 30 years old. Changes his mind after Ravens give him a decent offer and he’s now averaging 120 yards/game and has 6 TD’s in just 4 games. We should of offered him w/e it took to get him into signing with us. Quadzilla was supposed to be our Derrick Henry at home but that is just us not being honest with ourselves. AJ Dillon might have the size of King Henry but he’ll never be able to move or bulldoze men like Henry.

I’ll never forget when Derrick Henry played for Bama and he hit Wisconsin Safety Michael Caputo so hard that after the play Caputo went to lineup on the offensive side of the ball with the Alabama players. Derrick Henry is just built different than any RB to ever play the game.

  15. Has the media been saying this? I don’t really follow the media much to be honest. Jacobs is a cross between Jones and Dillon. I like him.

  16. Now do a stat on running for a wide open touchdown until you decide run right into the defender. Or how about fumbling in the clutch in a playoff game.

  17. I love them both and would invite both of them to Thanksgiving this year but no backyard football game if they do

  18. Should the colts game even count though?? Like seriously that has to have padded his stats
