  1. Those are great stats by Buchelnikov. People sometimes fail to remember it's a lot harder to get points in the KHL since they use IIHF (international) rink sizes, so if a player puts in 75 pts in the KHL (or pretty much most other euro leagues) in a full season, they are doing real good. It is a lot more difficult with a smaller talent pool (despite Russia being 110 million people, their rise in the country stats had kind of stopped around 2016, yes the current government since 2000 has improved their lives compared to the robber barons of the 90's, but that is no longer the case since well y'know, at first a bunch of wonky/weird sanctions by the US government in the mid 2010's until the stupid thing they did a couple years ago (soon 3), so the meteoric rise in quality of life in that country has dropped significantly since then, and a bit before that too), they used to have a larger talent pool, more like 230,000 now it's 100,000. So the great players play with less great players so stats have to be adjusted, some centre scoring 15 goals and 27 assists could be a 40 goal 60 assists guy here sometimes (after coming over north america and doing some time in the CHL or the AHL, I'll always say it is better for Europeans who are under 20 to join a CHL league, especially the qmjhl, most "recent" obvious example is Kucherov, the style of play is better for most European guys in the QMJHL, most of the time anyways, rarely ever see them in WHL, sometimes in the OHL. Then the step into the NHL usually is easy.

Goalies are a different thing I guess, definitely some great goaltending coaches over there, like back in the 80's and 90's for Quebec.
