  1. I take don’t give two shits about financial problems with this team. If I thought for a moment that’s the ownership have two shits about winning, I might, but we all know that’s not the case. If it means more money for bob et all then in their mind they’re doing it right!

  2. Get off of Bally. If Bally would sign a deal with you tube tv they might actually have viewers. This is Bally’s fault.

  3. I mean, after this disappointing season, who thought our ownership was going to open up their wallets and spend more? They weren’t.. They are still paying Canderelio and Pagan. I’m sure ticket sales were down in 2024, and they will likely plummet in 2025 (unless the Reds pull off another Greg Vaughn/Neagle offseason, which isn’t going to happen).

Reds ownership OWNS the sports writers (figuratively, not literally).. No doubt, they are using the Bally thing as an excuse to do nothing this winter. Reds lost 85 games this year. They are more likely to lose 90 than lose 80 next year. (Some of the young arms aren’t likely to recover from injuries, Nick Martinez is likely gone).

I can see them letting go off a few vets like France, Rosario, and some middle relivers and not really replacing them. That’s just the Reds’ way, since about 2000.

  4. I thought they were part owners of Bally, which was the whole point of them sticking with that shitshow.

  5. I live in Indy. I’m blacked out on MLB.tv and the Bally app doesn’t include the Reds in my zip code. YouTube TV doesn’t carry Bally. We go to several home games each year and will likely do so next year. It’s like ownership really doesn’t want my money. Stupid and frustrating.

  6. The franchise value has skyrocketed the past decade, one year of no tv deal should not screw them over to prevent investment in an offseason. You only have so many seasons of this core in place, don’t waste it!!!!!

  7. Meh, this is just an excuse for what would have happened anyway. Even if our Bally’s revenue doubled magically they wouldn’t fucking spend it. It doesn’t matter.

  8. It’s so frustrating almost every other year or so we have to find a way to watch sans buying a typical cable package.

  9. I’d be thrilled if they went in with MLB at least for a year. It’s gone well for the D’Backs, Rockies and Padres. MLB reached distribution deals with cable and satellite very quickly, doing far better than what Bally has.

I don’t see the Reds starting their own network at this point. It would be nice, especially for payroll eventually, but I just don’t see them going down that road.
