Comparison between legendary goal scorers and their seasons

  1. No Hull? His 90-91 season is among the best ever era-adjusted seasons.
That said, I really appreciate the poster (?) pulling this data together. Didn’t think Ovechkin would be where he is. “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take” philosophy at play?

  2. The “adjusted for era” nullifies the graph for me. Proves Churchill’s own adage, that *he only believed the data that he doctored himself*. Gretzky has more goals than anyone else 25 years after retiring. He has more assist than anyone has points. Nice try though.

  3. What surprises does this graph show? It seems obvious to me that a better shooting percentage relative to the league usually results in more goals.

  4. This era adjusted bs is stupid. Just make a list of separate eras and who dominated. Comparing eras makes zero sense as is, adjusting the numbers doesn’t translate at all with different equipment, systems, salary cap, etc.
