Good review. Kyle is certainly a top 10 all-time Cubs pitcher, but not ahead of Fergie, Sut, Maddox and possibly a few others. Winning Game 7 of the WS probably puts him in my top 5 list. However, comparing post-season starts across eras is not legit since there were far fewer post-season games played in the 60s and 70s, and even into the 80s. Also, not sure that strike throwing percentage is such a great stat. Maybe would have been better off walking a few more guys rather than giving them something to hit.
Def one of the great cubs for sure ….hope he just retires, that last game was a gem ….like to see him go out on a good note and as a cub
