The big guy
Le Magnifique!
Aging like fine wine.
Did he do some surgery on his face ? Or does he just look good ?
So many of the insanely talented things he did never show up in highlight reels so a lot of younger fans know he was great but I still feel like they can’t realize just how great he really was to watch.
I really wish better quality copies of old games were available so everyone could just watch some regular games where he would just routinely take things over.
His ability to slow the game down and skate around and just be a one man zone possession time generator was one of my favorite things to watch. He was so big he could just keep the puck and if you send two people to him, then someone else was open and he WOULD find them.
Jagr could also do it and Crosby can as well but 6’4″ 230 doing it with finesse was insane.
His penalty killing was so much fun to watch. He shut down a quarter of the zone with his reach and the other team was terrified to turn the puck over because he was coming the other way and could beat two to three defenders in his way.
The excellence of execution
Nice. I was 66th upvote for #66
I’ve just learned that Patrick Roy was also born on Oct 5th, 1965.
