‘Life of a corner, it’s a lonely world’: NY Giants secondary to be challenged in Seattle

>Banks has been targeted 27 times, allowing 17 catches and four touchdowns. Now he’s likely preparing to see DK Metcalf and the Seahawks, who also feature Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
>”It’s a hard job. Like being a D-lineman taking on 600 pounds or being an outside corner going one-on-one with some of these receivers, they’re tough asks,” Giants defensive coordinator Shane Bowen said. “And that’s the expectation, though. For that position, that’s the expectation. So, we’ve got to do a good job, continue to work that, just finding that comfort level to play the ball down the field without fouling, playing through hands, and creating some of these PBUs.”
>Banks certainly isn’t alone, and he promises he is not losing confidence. He’s leaning on his talent and the belief that he will continue to ascend as a player, vowing to compete because it’s what he has done to get to where he is now.
>”Where does my confidence come from? I’m confident in who I am as a player, I know who Tae Banks is,” he told [NorthJersey.com](http://NorthJersey.com) after practice Thursday. “I don’t think I’ve ever lost confidence or doubted myself. Just makes me work harder.”
I think we all kind of knew our cornerback depth wasn’t *the best* but Banks hasn’t stepped down from showing up to line up against the other teams WR1’s. Dru Phillips adds some nice talent to the group and hopefully with Adoree’ coming back we have better play in our zone looks.
They mention a bit about Cordell Flott too who I felt had a quiet good game against Dallas. Broke up a few good passes with some pretty nice coverage.
>In his quest to improve rapidly, Cor’Dale Flott has spent time the last few weeks watching video of his own play.
>The way the Giants’ third-year corner sees it, if he can identify how opposing receivers are attacking him, there is a path to getting better and becoming a player on which this defense can rely on.
>”You try to be honest and see how they are beating you, what they’re doing to beat you,” Flott told NorthJersey.com. “Because if you can figure that out and fix those things, you’ll stop the next receiver from doing the same thing.”
Can’t get better without coming to terms on what needs to be improved. I respect that more than anything a player/coach might want to hype up or who-have-you’s *analytics* and followers.
We are going to be eating burnt toast after the game.
Metcalf will eat Banks alive. Between that and no Nabers, it’s gonna be an unwatchable game. Probably something like 31-6.

I love Banks but he cannot handle being a CB1
