Yup. Wheeler lost the strike zone after the 2nd inning and the home plate ump single handedly brought him back in the game.
Everyone kept glazing Wheeler for all the swings and misses he had as well. As if the Mets having to cover 6 inches off of both sides of the plate had no influence of that.
Is that star accurate, the ranked 73 of 90!? I would have thought only the top ranked umpires would have earned the right to referee a post season game? Isn’t being selected to ump a playoff spot an honor for umpires? Something to reward a top performance through the regular season?
Do these umps get some type of report card at the end of the year? This is ridiculous. There needs to be some type of repercussions.
