This is a good move considering the sunk cost, but also unfortunate that it occurs only a year into the three year contract. There’s been too many longer term contracts that have turned out to be negative value.

This was always the most likely outcome when Kasper played so well. 13 forwards, 7 defencemen, 3 goalies.

The best thing he did for Detroit was cockblock Edvinsson from keeping #3 (boring) and forcing him to take #77 (much cooler)

Now if Husso keeps playing as well as he did in pre-season, maybe someone will take on that contract. Although, Lyon is far and away the most tradable.
I would be VERY VERY surprised if he gets claimed.
Even if I don’t want him on the roster, it’s still an “oof” when you see it happen
