Canadiens send seven players to Laval Rocket

The Canadiens announced on Monday that Logan Mailloux, Joshua Roy, Adam Engström, Jakub Dobeš, Lucas Condotta, Brandon Gignac, and William Trudeau were loaned to the AHL’s Laval Rocket.

First, the Club shared the news that forwards Condotta and Gignac, along with defenseman Trudeau, were loaned to the Rocket on Sunday. The three players had been recalled on Saturday ahead of the Canadiens’ final preseason game in Ottawa, a game for which they all dressed.

Then, on Monday morning, the Habs announced that forward Joshua Roy, defensemen Logan Mailloux and Adam Engström, and goaltender Jakub Dobeš were also sent down to Laval.

The seven players will join the Rocket for day of training camp, which finishes on Monday with media day at Place Bell

  1. I thought Heinemen and kapenen had a very strong camp. Honestly I know people will not agree but I think if Heinemen can toughen up, he can replace Josh Anderson. Josh's lack of toughness was really disappointing this camp. Meanwhile Kapanen's Hockey IQ was really impressive, he reads the ice so well and his finishing skills are so good. I think the habs made the right call.

  2. Anderson is in Drouin type situation. Trade him so he restart his career and the Habs get rid of his salary. He's taking a spot of a young prospect that the Habs have said they wants the prospects to grow together for a future run at the Cup

  3. What did I constantly tell you coach and Enortap! for the last week that Kapanen would make this team and you kept saying he was going back to Sweden 🤔

  4. Good Cut with Roy looked slow 🐌. QC players sometimes get too comfortable in Habs Uniform hope to see him Pickup his game.

  5. Thanks Coach…always cheer for those who make the team and I always feel really bad for those who don’t. That said, MSL gave them all a lot of time to make their case but some didn’t.

  6. roy had a bad camp but hutson did?
if gorton and hughes are gonna f around…ill be happy to say theyre stupid.
ill circle back in a year when they skip his bridge and give him 8 x 8.
    then lol at everybody .
    nohabsno

  7. Kapanen out played Roy for that spot, it might only be for 9 or 11 games but I guess we will see, it gives Roy a wake up call and hopefully he starts off good in Lavals top 6

  8. Three rookies starting the season is huge. Providing they do well that will be massive towards the rebuild given Habs have 5 pending UFAs this season which leads to more rookies playing. It is better to phase them in gradually rather than have all coming in at the same time.

This is going to be a tough season given how the line-up currently looks. After this season and next Habs should be competing for the playoffs as the young players will have gained experience.

  9. I'm not surprised that Heineman and Kapanen are still there. Kapanen made his case, Heineman worked hard and finished his checks, Barre-Boulet too. Heineman I believe is waiver exempt, Kapanen can play 9 games then a decision to stay or back to Sweden. Roy simply got outworked, no glaring errors but just looked like he needs to step up a level in Laval.
