That save in Game 6 against Montreal still blows my mind. I remember turning and cursing cuz I thought it went in, then my buddies all started freaking out. Just ludicrous athleticism.

When he was getting inducted to the HoF I went back and watched a ton of old highlights and holy shit. I forgot just how awful most of the Rangers teams were back then defensively. Most of those rosters are wild card teams without him
That second clip was clearly a goal. His glove crossed the line. Baaaaaaaaaaad Toronto. Baaaaaaaaaad.
That last save was so good the ref lost his balance
That 1st save in particular was immaculate. The distance covered on such an unexpected bounce, on a very well placed shot… Just unbelievable

There’s a really good documentary on Netflix about his heart surgery and his attempt to return to hockey called “Open Heart”. The way his career ended was such a bummer, but he’s really good on the TNT broadcasts.
He’s always been one of my favorite goalies, even as a Flyers fan.
I was at that winter classic, in Rangers gear. I zipped up my jacket and took off my hat so none of it was visible when leaving.
regardless of my hatred for the rags, I have nothing, but respect for Lundqvist . He is one of the best to ever do it.
