Mailloux going to Laval is rediculous!
Still too small a team.
If Roy wasn't from Quebec would anyone disagree with him being dropped down? He simply didn't look good. At times Mailloux looked sloppy and error prone. Kid has a good future but I don't think he's ready to be there for the games we start the season with. He can be fed in once the carnage settles from the opening few games. I really wouldn't fancy him with the opening trilogy of games we have.
Here's hoping the special teams will get some chemistry and start working out. Both PP and PK have stunk harder than a skunk.
So the useless Barron is in the line up still. The guy hasn't learned a damn thing and is Still a defensive liability ! And as always there's the free pass Francophone foolishness going on. Dissapointing.
Thanks Drew.
Disappointed Roy and Mailloux did not earn a spot. They will have to prove it in Laval. I will not be missing any Laval games that's for sure.
I personally like the final choices that were made…slightly surprised Heineman beat out Roy for a spot because offensively, I thought Roy could offer more but I'm not surprised by the move because I feel it was Roy's spot to lose, and he lost it by not showing enough. As for Barron being chosen over Mailloux…I feel MSL's response to how he thought Mailloux had a good camp and that he understands the process, reading between the lines means that Mtl mgmt didn't want to lose Barron on waivers so that was the deciding factor. I still like Barron and his potential but he has to show consistency and show he can make better decisions under pressure. Mailloux will now be the stud D in Laval and continue his development (he still needs to work on things that concern me) until he gets the call up, and you know he will be called up. I would have liked to see Josh Anderson linked to Dach & Newhook to offer him a strong opportunity for a fresh start but I understand why they chose Armia. Plus the lines are more balanced with playmakers, shooters, size and speed. The one thing I do want to see is Pezzetta taking more of a role of being the team enforcer and allowing Arber to focus more on developing into a better Dman. I feel that "enforcer" moniker is preventing Arber from focusing on his game. Altho I'm not comparing but I would like to see Arber become a Zdeno Chara…a feared but well respected player who contributes to the team not only with his fists but his all round game. I feel Arber's constant feeling of having to stick up/protect his teammates takes his focus off improving his own game. I guess, just let Arber be Arber and hopefully everything will work itself out. I am a little concerned to hear MSL keep bringing up the word "process" bc that word still invokes development and not, we are ready to compete…so I'm a little apprehensive about this season, but we will just have to wait and see. Finally, I just want to remind everyone that even tho this 23man roster is set, those who feel disappointed in the final decisions…remember, this team will probably look different come end of season, so keep the faith. Gau-Dekes Go!
Been paying attention to this roster and other Atlantic Division rosters. Gotta tell ya, I dont revel in being pessimistic, but no, we ain’t gonna be “in the mix” this year. All eyes on development, and start of next year after 1 more crucial draft. Patience boys, almost there
Xhekaj and Barron…not great…
This team is missing the playoffs again sadly
Surprised at Logan Mailloux going back down, also, Joshua Roy over ABB
Logan Mailloux is not ready, that is all. He needs time in Laval. Roy is hot and cold. Barre-Boulet looked good and deserved a chance. Hutson – Who didnt see that coming. Definitely earned. Xhekaj made some mistakes but stepped up his game is definitely deserving. His toughness is also needed. We need Pezz to step up a bit and cover some of that activities so we don't lose a Dman every game that gets out of hand. Kapanen – Happy to see him get a spot, hope he continues to grow. We need more out of him still. Power Play – THEY NEED TO FIX THIS.
Dobes should play over Primeau
Roy didn't have a good camp 🤷🏽🤷🏽
It was the right choices. I like Henimem because he has physical, I think we need more physical players. Josh Anderson was also a disappointment in camp so I can see henimen potentially taking his spot m
It’s just so childish and immature for Habs fans to always pressure players even though they are playing thousands of miles away and are still early in their development. Talking about Demidov of course. It’s juvenile and frankly stupid and shows how you lack hockey knowledge. The other reason is when you always ask why players don’t want to play in Montreal, well you have your reason right there. I’ve been a Habs fans for over 30 years now and find this new breed of hockey YouTube channels to be devoid of knowledge of the game and frankly just boring. Leave the kid alone for a year or two. I’m sure his coach knows what he’s doing. He’s a coach you are not. 👎🏻
I’m really surprised that Roy didn’t make it but hopefully he’ll get called up after if we have another injury god hope not tho. We still want to see you though Roy
…………….I think it's only fair to expect the Habs power play to slow down a bit once they start facing legit number one goalies……
I believe that wirh all the prospects, and is not just about skill. A lot of this has to do with waiver while eligibility, and being able to keep everyone to be traded and not just waived.
Montreal has to make it a point every season to sweep the season series against Toronto.
Yea…they got it about right. nothing is permanent and the lineup will change and adapt to prevailing circumstances. Opening day roster is a big deal but not the end of the world. Some guys need to work harder. Most pundits have already written off the Habs and say they won't be in the top 25 come finals. I reckon they're a sleeper. I expect we'll find out which is true by New Year's.
Majou being cut is terrible ,this guy is a stud,if this guy for what ever reason gets sent to the minors next year you got to trade him,I love this guy,I'm pissed off,bad day in Montreal today
