  1. I’m not going to say that Will’s claims have no basis in reality or anything but he looks like he’s on a bender

  2. Such a bad look to be hoping/gloating about fellow Giants being fired. Feels like every year Clark goes further off the deep end with how he views modern baseball.

These are his fucking coworkers. You just know this guy treats anyone that wasn’t a pro ball player like shit.

  3. Not like posey said analytics are here to stay and they’d be foolish not to use them, or anything

  4. Seems extra bizarre because I remember seeing pieces on how his autistic son absolutely adored baseball, especially statistics. They had a segment where they’d give him a player and he rattle off career stats.

People like his son are more likely to bethe stats people he’s speaking about here, so you think that context might have helped him.

  5. The Thrill is a legend, but he gives off so much “KNBR caller” energy in clips like this

  6. Here’s a good take on analytics by Ken Rosenthal. This came after the Posey hiring. Kenny talks about the impact of analytics and what might change if Posey succeeds at his job. Rosenthal said very few teams are as balanced as they claim and it’s nothing more than lips moving.

  7. It’s almost like Clark knows more about baseball than anyone on here, weird. If the plan is to fire the Ivy League nerds in the front office then so be it. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

  8. That’s pretty funny. But I have a hard time believing Farhan dictated the lineup on a daily basis. More likely, he had a lot of input but that has to be the manager’s call.

  9. I love Will the Thrill, but this is big “get off my lawn, back in my day, these millennials and their spreadsheets” energy lol

  10. Thrill didn’t say anything that bad. Farhan leaned heavy on analytics. Makes sense to trim some of the analytical staff and add more scouts. Also if Farhan did write up the lineup, fuck that guy!

  11. Will, I loved you as a player, so I say this from the heart:

    You’ve got to stop drinking.

  12. Will definitely emptied a bottle or two before that statement. As Buster said analytics are here to stay. The Giants problem isn’t that they use analytics it said they were overrun by them.

  13. Why is this guy still employed by the Giants? Fucking piece of shit. An intern who spends 10 weeks with the team adds 10 times the value of this “special” assistant. Drunk loser.

  14. It would be nice if all the older players who played during a time when analytics weren’t a thing stopped complaining about analytics.

  15. I understand that analytics aren’t everything, but to completely shun them would be a foolish error. The game changes over time, and you’re gonna get humiliated if you don’t adapt. Look at this year’s White Sox. They still want to party like it’s 2005, and look where that got them.

  16. I’m still trying to wrap my head around the Madres success after they parted ways with Melvin 😳

  17. This would be really stupid, especially with the role of analytics in developing pitching.
