Something Special is Brewing in Vancouver…

Documentary clips credit: Amazon MGM Studios, Faceoff: Inside the NHL (Episode 4).

Last season, Quinn Hughes elevated his game to heights never seen before in Vancouver. He improves his game every season and is poised to go down in NHL history as one of the all-time greats. In this video, I review the Hughes segments from Amazon’s new documentary and make a case for why Quinn Hughes will repeat as the Norris Trophy winner.

  1. I'll go with Josi on this one. I think Nashville is primed for a huge season and Josi may reap the benefits of a much improved offense. Conversely, i think Vancouver may see a slight regression after a vastly improved season last year. Seems like Demko may not carry his normal workload due to a nagging injury-which means a backup caliber goalie may carry a large amount of the playing time. not a good scenario for Hughes to repeat.

  2. He might but it’s pointless to discuss that now. Fan bases should never start the year talking this shit. If I was going to point out anything to Hughes right now about expectations, it would be the poll this past week regarding who will be the next winner of the Norris. Guess what- Hughes’ name isn’t even on it. I kid you not.
Now, that’s exactly what I would want Hughes to hear going into the season. They think it was fluke he won.. Don’t respect him yet? Watch out!

  3. I hope Hughes wins the Norris again but unless he is undisputed best D man in the NHL he isn't going to go back to back, if you go back to back you are going to the HOF

  4. At first I thought JT would be the Captain this year. But I underestimated Quinn's Leadership.

In the 90s, Captains needed to yell and scream to gain respect out of fear. Quinn doesn't need that. He uses his pure awkwardness to shatter any ego, and only those confident in themselves and their abilities and their efforts, are comfortable with Hughes 🤭 im just kinda joking

  5. To repeat the Norris the pairing of Hronek and Hughes will have to push their dominance into the second half of the season. Tailing off as they did kept Hughes from the 100 point plateau.

Now I'm not suggesting that is the goal. We all know Hughes pushes to improve himself each year. If we didn't, we do now thanks to this video. 👍

I'm sure he and Hronek both gained valuable experience last year. They kicked a$$! And they'll both be ready to do it again.

Sure, someone else could steal his thunder next year. But he will be a top contender for years to come. He will break 100 points, he will break the 20 goal barrier, and he will win the Norris again.

    He's HOF material.
