I understand they wanted Jacoby to start and for Drake to learn from him but it’s time. Everything Drake Maye could learn from Jacoby has already been learned, now it’s time for him to get live game experience.
They’re gonna put in the rookie QB with a weak O Line that likes to run against the defense that just broke the veteran QB with a good O Line that likes to run.

Everybody knows you gotta wrap up your top rookies in bubble wrap and wait until you have a 49ers level of talent in place to play the rookie. Don’t pay attention to the fact that we’ll be waiting three years to even possibly get to that point.
Either Maye can play, or he can’t. Burrow wasn’t ruined, Allen wasn’t ruined, Stafford wasn’t ruined, Manning wasn’t ruined. Maye will only be “ruined” if he wasn’t going to be a good NFL quarterback to begin with (or a catastrophic injury obviously, but that can happen on any team, at any point, to any player, with or without contact)
