On Rodon: “Shout to all the young pitchers out there. Listen. It’s good to show emotion. It’s good to be locked in, but you gotta stay locked in for the course of the outing…”

Salvy’s HR: “Young pitchers, if you’re gonna show emotion, you better be careful, especially if you’re gonna do it from the 1st inning. You do NOT want to motivate any more of these big league players because OH BOY El Capitan had something to say about it…”

  1. Love the fire he still has in his belly (even if he wasn’t able to bring to the Padres). He knows the game well enough to WIN, and was a class act off of the diamond. Hope they bring him in as a “consultant” to sit alongside Salvy and talk about things to the newer kids in the organization.

He was FIRST outta the dugout when someone got dinged at the plate, he has that PRESENCE that you want from your fellow bats. He may not have been the world-beater we thought he was (and San Diego thought he *could* be), but he’s still a *breadth* of knowledge on the game at the highest level, and how to *motivate* once you get there.

Hell yeah, Hos. I’m glad you brought in Moustakas a few times too, ’cause “Moose and Hos” was the JAM back in the day. Would love the duo-commentary for live games. Live-stream that stuff, inject it directly into my VEINS.
