The Yankees had a workout in the Bronx today instead of flying to Kansas City after Game 2. Aaron Boone said hotels were an issue with the Chiefs/Saints Monday Night Football game.

This seems like an avoidable mistake.

  1. Hello airbnb? Lol

But who makes these scheduled? They knew they were playing one or two teams. Why not book ahead of time once kansas was confirmed

I was wondering why Jazz was posting stadium pics

  2. …the most valuable team in baseball, worth more than $7B, couldn’t book a hotel for their players to stay in?

    That’s…uh…not what you want.

  3. Remember when Sevy didn’t know the first pitch time in 2018?

Numerous unforced errors by this organization.

  4. People are gonna overreact to this, so just gonna remind everyone that the MLBPA has in their CBA a minimum standard for hotels and accommodations.

  5. Rent a few mansions on Airbnb in the same neighborhood

Buy out a hotel in the suburbs

Spread the players out or separate players and staff among a few hotels within walking distance of each other.

    This isn’t fucking rocket science.

    The incompetence knows no bounds.

  6. Lol im sure this wont come back to bite us tomorrow

Shades of them not knowing what time a playoff game started in 2018

  7. Is a random regular season Monday night football game between non-rival teams really drawing so many people that hotels are booked in the entire city?

  8. It’s not a big deal, but every other team playing is within a 4 hour drive of the other park in this series, so accumulated travel issues, such as they are, are probably going to end up as more of a disadvantage to the winner of this series in the next one and the one after that…

It’s not a major issue, as it’s a pretty short, private flight, but it’s still a flight, and subject to more problems than a road trip of equal duration, as their later competition has to deal with.

It’s not a huge problem, but it gives them one less day to get reacclimated to Kauffman, which is really useful because the parks are so different.

These things should be handled for the entire span of possible need, within the parameters stipulated by contractual obligations well ahead of time; by a organization valued in the billions, be it the team or MLB. This should be especially true for the playoffs, even if the need during the playoffs is less easily scheduled for than usual.

It’s clear from this that they actually did try, and _fail_, to get the rooms they sought. That is definitive failure.

Not having this taken care of does smack of negligence by some Yankees department, but it’s not like it’s indicative of systemic organizational failure.

    Some of you are hilarious.

  9. Took me 10 seconds on Google to find a Ramada Inn about a half hour drive from the stadium:  Ramada by Wyndham Platte City KCI Airport.

Hope this isn’t a reflexion of how prepared the boys are for the game.

  10. It’s understandable, KC probably only has 3 hotels in town, including a posh comfort inn and holiday inn express

  11. Honestly what’s the big deal??? They’re still gonna be there the day before the game. It’s not like they’re travelling by bus or train lol they’ll be in a private plane fully rested
