  1. At what point would he have been called out after thinking the ball had been caught and heading back to the dugout?

  2. That’s actually just sad, lmao. He just made up in his mind that Profar caught it. He just gave up on hoping he didn’t this time around.

  3. Should’ve been called out for leaving the basepath, just for maximum overchaos.

  4. No, this is not “running out of the baseline”.

The official rule is running out of the base path. The base path is an imaginary line from the player to the base when a tag attempt is made. Since there was no tag attempt, there was no base path to run out of. Therefore, there is no infraction.

  5. Out of the baseline. Call him out.

Edit: FFS people, whoosh! I didn’t think obvious sarcasm needed to be marked with a /s, but Reddit gonna Reddit I guess.

  6. Is there any scenario possible whereby a player gets called out or is ejected after hitting a home run but before rounding the bases ?

  7. Good for mookie though I like him great player great person just on the team I dislike.

  8. These helmet ads are more disturbing than Profar almost robbing Mookie again. Seriously stop selling ads on the player uniforms.

  9. Dodgers are done. They all look so defeated / shook after losing in San Diego.

Who’s speaking up in that locker room? Maybe Teo? Can’t see Soshei losing his shit on the team…

Mookie jogging off the field is just sad.

Man the fuck up and dig deep Dodgers! Let’s fuckin gooo!

  10. What’s up with the necklace flailing around? Is that common in baseball? I feel like I wouldn’t want that while I’m sprinting and sliding/diving.

  11. Kind of the issue with Profar pimping the catch yesterday for what seemed like an eternity.

  12. He broke his baseline. That should really have been reviewed and overturned as an out. /s

  13. Peter Brand: The Los Angeles Dodgers and our 165 lb outfielder Mookie Betts, who as you know, scared his homeruns get robbed. This was in a game last night. This guy is going to start him off with a fastball. Mookie’s going to take him to deep left. Here’s what’s really interesting, because Mookie’s gonna do what he never does. He’s gonna go for it. He’s gonna jog the bases and he’s gonna go for a homerun trot. Okay?

[On the video, Profar reaches over the fence and appears to catch the ball]

Peter Brand : This is all Mookie’s nightmares coming to life.

Billy Beane : Awwww, they’re laughing at him.

Peter Brand : And Mookie’s about to find out why. Mookie’s about to realize that the ball wasn’t caught. He hit a home run and didn’t even realize it.
