Helene is brutal. Get her off the media team. Seriously.
Love Ed and I know it was preseason but they didn't LOOK ready. 🙁 PP needs work.
reporter "newsy when you go to chiptole do you -" "GREAT rice, great beans, need to work on the proteins a bit. red hot salsa is inconsistent but the sour cream does have a great pop to it. Looking forward to game day, will be a great test for us"
Larkin cost them multiple preseason games with selfish dirty plays. not captain material at all
I love Stevie as our GM and he's done a very good job as GM. That being said, the Tigers' run to the playoffs teaches us that Stevie's plan to fill up the lineup with veterans and force the young players to "fight" their way onto the roster isn't the optimal plan. Sure there needs to be some veterans, but certainly not as many as Stevie has brought in. And the veteran contacts should be shorter terms (1-2 years ideally). Similar to how Adam Peters is building the Washington Commanders. If you being in too many veterans on longer term deals, you end up blocking the development of players who need to be in the NHL and deserve to be in the NHL. In fact, going back to the AHL slows down their development as players need to get used to speed and physicality of the NHL. Going back to the AHL delays that maturation. In this case, Kasper should be on the Wings. Danielson and Mazur probably as well. However, they're not because of veteran contracts clogging up roster. At this point, the right thing for Stevie to do would be to move players such as Copp, Veleno, and Maata (even if we need to eat some of their contracts or give up some draft picks). They're fine solid players but we have young players who are just as good as they are right now and will be far better in a year if given NHL experience.
Why does Lalonde favor Raymond so much over Kane and what's up with him always throwing some of his players under the bus? Raymond's +- was worse than Kane's last year yet he never brings it up with him. Raymond has a -12. Kane was a -3. Also Kaner has 3 cups Raymond has 0. Raymond's a good player, but quite frankly he hasn't proven anything yet. They need to fire his guy already. Seriously. I don't want them to play bad, but if they start bad it could put pressure on Yzerman to make a coaching change. Look what it did for Edmonton last year when they changed coaches early in the season.
